Jackie Cox
Artist

Jackie has been a self employed artist since 1984 when she left a career as an animal nurse. Since then she has had many successful exhibitions and her work is in collections both here and abroad.

Jackie started teaching in 2002 and now regularly teaches at the Latchen Room and at her studio, both in Longhope. She enjoys teaching and finds that she can use all her experience, accumulated through years of experimentation, driven by her insatiable curiosity and the need to try every medium.

Jackie's broad experience has also allowed her to complete many and varied commissions. She has exhibited at the Medici Gallery London and recently had paintings accepted for the Soceity of Equestrian Artists and the Soceity of Feline Artists.

Jackie also accepts framing commissions at her studio in Longhope and is available for workshops and demonstrations on various subjects including working in coloured pencil, pastel landscapes, how to draw and paint animals and birds and basic composition and perspective. Jackie also enjoys making silver and bead jewellery which she exhibits locally and sells from her studio. She says 'I started making jewellery as I could never find a piece in the right colour for a particular occasion. Now I find that it compliments the painting as I enjoy physical side of crafting a piece and the interest and immediacy of putting different colours together'
