From a young age Pat has always loved sewing and craft but it didn’t become a full time interest until after her retirement from the NHS. She was an IT Project Manager in the Health Service and since retirement her computer experience has served her well in her fascination with working with textiles, much of which entails using embroidery software on the computer and the sewing machine. She has recently completed a City and Guilds Course entitled Creative Computing Into Stitched Textiles. This has opened up an interest in printing on to fabric and raising the surface texture with embroidery and different embellishments.

Pat makes bags and fabric flowers which she takes to quality craft fairs but this is quite a recent change for her as previously she was working with polyester fleece making embroidered dressing gowns, jackets and gilets for ladies and children. After doing this and taking many commissions for these fleece goods over five years she needed a change and so she chose to divert her attentions to what she now does and she has found it much more creative. However, she continues to make Baby Play Blankets using prettily coloured fleece, backed with pre-washed cotton and decorated with many children’s embroideries. Each one is different and they can be personalised with names and dates. They wash well and are very popular.

A few of Pat's fabric flower brooches are on show at Beechenhurst and she intends to develop this range into hair accessories too. Her bags are entirely unique, made from beautiful fabrics and she offers a range of sizes and styles.

Pat is also available for demonstrations and talks within a reasonalbe distance and holds an NVQ level 4 adult teaching certificate so is well qualified to offer tuition. Commissions are also undertaken. Contact Pat for further details.
