Ray is a painter of 'Inner Landscapes' his statement on the series .....

We cannot improve on nature. The natural world has the most varied and glorious of colours. What we can do, through a process of co-creation, is absorb all that we see with our physical eyes: colour, tone, form and texture. Then we can internalise, by using our 'internal eyes' and add our own imaginings. From this we are able to create something new. Theis morphing of the outside natural world and the internal world of imagination produces an image that is familiar and yet unrecognisable, comforting and intruguing. The eyes of the body see a version of reality. The internal eyes of the spirit bring forth a new form of reality, upon which the viewer may reflect outwardly and also inwardly.
